Occupying 75 acres at the foot of the North Downs, Church Farm Ryarsh has been family owned and run for over 45 years.

When Frank Beavington purchased the farm in 1979, it was used for a combination of apple orchards and dairy farming. In earlier years, hops had been grown on the farm and dried in the Oast House, which has since been converted to a dwelling.

Thereafter various farming enterprises ensued:

🌾 Cereal production: wheat, oilseed, linseed and more
🍓 Pick-your-own soft fruit: strawberries, raspberries, blackcurrants and more
🐄 Beef production
🥛  In 1990, the establishment of a new dairy unit comprising of Guernsey, Ayrshire and Fresian cows.

By 2000, Church Farm was arable only, growing wheat, barley and field beans.

  • After taking over the farm in 2020, Richard and Liesl Beavington sought a diversification scheme to support it. Various options were considered, but opening a luxury glamping site was the preference.

In 2022 the farm also joined the Pilot Scheme for the Sustainable Farming Incentive, with land being set aside to encourage wildlife populations.
Our most recent enterprises are Ryarsh Paw Ground and Woods Meadow Holiday Lodges!
